Speaker 2:

Welcome to it Gets To Be Easy Podcast where you're granted permission to live your most healthful and joy-filled life with ease.

Speaker 1:

We are your hosts, katie and Shauna, and together we've been cracking the code to creating our own realities with ease, and now we've set out to help you grow confident in this too.

Speaker 2:

Hey friend, welcome back to the show. If you've been tuned in over the last month, you've probably actually noticed a little shift in our style with our chats. So we jumped in with more of this like relaxed back and forth conversation, really just intending to share our downloads that were coming through as we reflected on our own personal inner work while we moved back through the Shifting from Hustle course modules. And we did this actually because we really wanted to help you take a look at the tools we created for you in this course. And then, as we did it, you started sending us feedback actually, and then we were finding that we were really liking this style and since you did too, we were like, okay, let's keep it going.

Speaker 1:

So here we are. We're going to jump in and share some of our recent downloads that have come through as we sat in our own pause moments and, as usual, we trust and know that you've showed up to this episode at the exact time you needed it today, and that's something we bring up and chat about today will deeply resonate with you, so we can't wait to hear about it.

Speaker 2:

Yes, we always love hearing about what is landing for you about it. Yes, we always love hearing about what is landing for you. So this theme that has really been coming through for us this past week or we've just been feeling aligned with this is that we've really felt more and more empowered by this particular thing ourselves over the past couple of years, and it's really kind of been dropping this need to know all the hows before we let ourselves, like, dream something up or before we even start, just you know, following the energy, taking those inspired actions to really live the life that we desire, even if it means needing to release ourselves from conditions or expectations that either we previously put on ourselves or, you know, we brought them in from family, friends, bosses, society, you name it and I know Katie you mentioned in the last episode. I think this really kicks us off well today is that?

Speaker 2:

You know you were talking about bringing up some big dreams that you and your husband and your family have been dreaming up, and you started to realize you were like navigating some limiting beliefs with it. You were even just like really trying to stand in your self-worth. You were saying about it like when, you know, maybe family members were bringing up some scarcity stories or scarcity energy around it. That ultimately, like what I was feeling when you were saying, that is, that this confidence was coming through of like releasing the house and just like letting this dream continue, letting the desires come through. So I'd love for us to go there today, like tell us a little bit more about that, like what's been coming through. How has that linked in with like shifting out of needing to know all the house to really even make it real?

Speaker 1:

I would love to talk about that. So, if you know, for those listening, if you haven't listened into that, the previous episode, it's module, our breakdown of module four of our shifting from hustle course, and I wanted to comment first, too, that this is the style of our Instagram lives when we first started doing this. So this is, this is what inspired our podcast, is where we're at now, so full circle, um. But what you're referring to, shauna, is we've been kind of on this journey of dreaming of this vacation home in what we wanted it to look like. We wanted the golf, we wanted the skiing, and where this location is. It's not cheap. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. This is a lifestyle decision. It's where we see ourselves retiring and we have kept putting ourselves in this place. We've been going on ski trips I mean, we've been just visiting, we've been camping in the area year after year, really putting ourselves in this position, and we're finally at that space where we're like.

Speaker 1:

The next step is to talk about and manifest living there, having the home that we want, again, putting ourselves in these situations where we can continue to feel that vibration and I was talking to my dad about it because he wants it too, and what's interesting is that it feels like this big generational gap of like having these big, audacious dreams, and the first thing out of his mouth is like wow, aren't you? Hoity-toity. I was like, excuse me, excuse me for having dreams, because to them and to a lot of people, it's like you need to be more realistic, you need to be pursuing things that are more seemingly achievable, and that's where, and that's where that shift has to happen. And it's easy to go back to that feeling of like. Oh, maybe he's right, maybe I'm dreaming too big, maybe I do need to be more conservative with our money. Like we've had rental properties for years now.

Speaker 1:

No-transcript had this moment again when I was retelling the story. I was like, just because dad's given up on being able to dream, like he's trying to limit our dreams, intentionally or unintentionally, not to throw my dad under the bus, it's just a different, he was raised differently, he grew up differently. But it's so easy to hear that, especially from the influential people in your life and realize, like that you start questioning yourself and you start letting the scarcity come in and you feel it.

Speaker 2:

So so good, so many things that you were saying there. I was like, yes, first one of the things that you said as you started talking about your desire for it. I really loved how you shared that you were putting yourself there already. That's been something that's been coming through for me too, and I just had to giggle because we've been talking and playing around with different things too, of like, hey, like we live closer to the beach now, but it would be cool if we had someplace that was even a little bit closer, so that it is more of a like daytime drive. My husband doesn't like to like be in the car longer than you know an hour and a half sort of thing for some of these things, and it's a little bit longer from where we are. And so, just like starting to talk about those things and last week, as I just allowed that to come through, right, I was working on some of those things personally that you were just talking about like what is somebody going to think about that? You know all of those things and someone messaged me a friend of mine that owns a house down at the beach and she had a last minute opening. It was like do you want to come stay at the beach. And I just had to die laughing because I was like this literally was magnetized to me for allowing myself to go to that space and allow myself to want to be there without the how, yep. And of course it didn't work out because it was last minute and we would have to arrange the dog and all kinds of things, that it just wasn't the right timing with it. But it truly felt very divinely sent for me to get that feedback to be like yep, this is how you do it, you don't have to attach to how you get to do it this way. And yeah, there's just so much power behind that of just putting yourself there, getting yourself on these little trips, like whatever it means, whatever it looks like, you know you get to continue to build in that energy and it's.

Speaker 2:

It is like, I think, one of the things that we observe when we're stepping back and always, you know, I say take that bird's eye view. And what you were just saying is this underlying condition, no matter where it's coming from, whether it's in our DNA, whether it's, you know, society's telling us. Our parents feel it just because that's what they felt. You know, there's some generational stuff there for sure Is this condition that there's like elusive security, like there's so much power that we put behind a dollar, is that in versus us? Just looking at it's actually a money exchange. So the more we allow ourselves to be a magnet for that, it's not like we're being greedy or that we shouldn't have that, or a hoity-toity, as you described it like.

Speaker 2:

Whatever it is Like, I think that's that's something that I love that we're coming and just having these chats about, and I hope that you as listeners are kind of thinking about like where does this show up for you? Because these scarcity stories just run so deep and the biggest piece that we can do is exactly what we're saying. We're starting to notice. It's just observe it, just allow ourselves permission to go there. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

We'd like to take a break from our show to invite you to learn more about our digital course shift from hustle. Are you tired of pushing to make things happen? Are you tired of comparing yourself to others? Are you ready to feel inspired to take action on only those things that feel good in your life? If you're nodding yes, then this course is for you. This four-week course is self-paced and has incredible resources to guide you through that shift from hustle culture. Head over to our Patreon, where you can learn more about our pricing and how this course is so full of ease. You'll want to take it over and over again.

Speaker 1:

Now back to the show. No, the other side of this that is, I think, really simplifies. This is if we stop ourselves from using our imagination. I think we think of kids and they have this deep imagination, they're living in this fantasy world and as we grow older as adults, we forget that we still have that muscle, we can still use our imaginations, and we lose sight of that fact that if we stop desiring, if we stop dreaming or pursuing these things that make us feel good, then you're going to be stuck, and I don't want to be stuck at all.

Speaker 1:

And what's really I hope that, like their listeners, feel the weight of two like strong-minded women who are all about the like process and procedure and efficiencies, but to be able to go to this place where we're both like, we trust that that's going to happen and we trust that we're going to be able to keep putting ourselves in position to have the experience, to continue to desire it more deeply. And then all of a sudden it's there for you and that's really what you know the journaling is about, or giving yourself the ability to feel like you are her and you are living that life. Before we jumped in, you said you had pulled out the magic of surrender book. So of course, it's like it was easy for me to find something quickly because I really I'm like yes, absolutely. So here it's like because you realize that you don't have to know where you are going to get exactly where you need to be.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so, so dang good, and I love what you're saying. I don't remember where I got this from when I was reading a while back, but it was saying that imagination is actually our human superpower and this whole adulting thing really has been what pulls us away from that. You know, you were spot on with that and I think about that all the time, even just working with kids, like if we're trying to be too serious with them, I'm like what the heck are we doing? Like these kids need to use their imagination. You know, I catch myself with that sometimes, and we got to catch ourselves with that as adults, like, yeah, of course we have things that are responsibilities and all the things we need to do, but allowing ourselves to go there and be able to shift out of that.

Speaker 2:

And you know, one other thing that was really coming up for me as I was journaling and thinking about this too, is that, you know, the scarcity piece can also come through, because I think there's an underlying condition and this could just be me, something for me personally, but I have had other people talk about it before, so maybe this will land for you all too, but I feel like somewhere along the way there is some condition that tells us that if we want something bigger, if we want something beyond and we already have good things in our lives, that we're being ungrateful.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Greedy.

Speaker 1:

Why do you do?

Speaker 2:

more, yes, and so I think I don't know honestly where it comes from, and I just feel, like I've been coaching myself more and more with this, that it is okay to still want to experience more, you know, and I think that maybe this condition actually does come from, you know, getting hung up on those hows, because if we are hung up on the how, then we do go into this more like forced effort mode and so then, yeah, maybe we aren't really enjoying our now, so maybe it does start to feel, or look like, or seem like we're not in this gratitude of what we currently have, because we go so hard at outcome driven approach and needing to know all the hows, that then we are just working towards a goal, versus like also still loving and enjoying and being in this joyful experience of the now, but still wanting, you know, some of the things that we're inviting in.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, as I thought through that, I was like yeah, I think that's probably where that noise comes from is that it is just getting really tangled up in the how and like if we can do both of those, because we can right, right, we can have gratitude right, that we talk about that like those simple little gratitude practices help us keep a pulse on, like what lights us up, which then drives our inspired actions right, and that continues to send out that signal, like we talked about in law of attraction, of just like more of this, please yeah, and I think what I want to pull back in, like focus on, is what you were saying here is, when you're so focused on the how you're, you're, you're in execution mode, you don't get to tap into what you feel, you don't.

Speaker 1:

The capacity to be more intuitive and follow those intuitive actions that you're talking about gets it really does get clouded, because then you start to see the expectations, you start to feel that you have to have a plan, or the plan's not achievable because on paper you're, so you're being black and white about it, and so you have to be able to follow the clues. And that means, like the getting quiet and the realizing that you're not necessarily always going to have a plan. And so, to go back to even your example, you want to be more closer to the beach. Well, now you know you have a friend who's willing to open up their house to you. And if you're at the beach, are you going to meet a real estate agent? Are you going to meet someone who's like ready to move on and sell, like whatever that looks like?

Speaker 1:

Going back to my story, we put ourselves where we wanted to be last February. We're skiing and run into a family friend who's like well, I have a house exactly where we want to have a house. And he's like just reach out sometime and you can stay there, cool, like, and it's so unique when you put yourself there. We end up meeting a realtor and doing all of these things, but going back to that, allowing ourselves to dream and understand the next right steps, because we put ourselves there, because we drove around and looked at houses, we ended up having this conversation and the guy knew a guy, knew a guy Like. And you're like this is not real but it is. That's how you let go and you let it. You're like I'm going to put myself here and the pieces can come together.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I hope you guys are hearing that, listeners because this really stands for whatever. It is right, like we both kind of gave examples of, like you know, wanting these vacation homes, but this really stands for anything that you desire because, really honestly, so much of what we do here on earth is human connection, right, and so the more we open ourselves up to dream of whatever it is that we're looking to experience more of in our life, more than likely it has to do with someone else coming into the picture, right, that's going to know someone or give us a connection or whatever it is. And so just continuing to be open to allow that, because otherwise you are putting yourself in this box of like, oh well, I'm going to have to do X, y, z, I'm going to have to talk to this specific person and it has to look this way. And then you know, and yeah, like you said, it just becomes this thing where we feel like we have to execute all of the steps in order to make it happen, versus welcoming in this way of doing it energetically, which I know can sound really woo, woo, but I also know and live having done this, and so it's just, it's one of those things that just allow it to happen, the small little steps, even, not even with big, huge dreams.

Speaker 2:

Let it happen with little things that you're talking about. You know and being able to. You know, we've done this with hiring process at work. We've done this with so many different little things that you can allow this to happen when you let go of the how.

Speaker 2:

One of the other things that was really coming through too when I was thinking about this and how sometimes these scarcity pieces come in is something else that we've talked about on the show before is clinging to house actually puts us in this attachment to time, you know, and with time comes fear a lot of times, because we um get tangled in like, oh my gosh, I have a deadline, or I don't have enough time, or it has to happen by X time, um, and then you know, I just think, really continuing to work on our relationship with that and to know that the more we align with energetically setting ourselves up to allow this to come in, we truly actually are expanding time, and so then time starts to become a little bit elusive, or this illusion that it really actually is, and we start to detach from time actually driving the outcome.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's definitely next level, like to really truly see it and believe it that way. And I think about how we talked about this before. It's just like where this evolution that in the last four years and we talk about it the law of attraction was kind of our first step in seeing that there's this ability to quantum leap and time. And my sister said it the other day she's been with her partner for a year now. They moved, they're having a baby this year and I was like how do you feel?

Speaker 1:

She's like I feel like I've lived three lifetimes and it's a perfect example of when you open yourself up to drawing in a person that you want in your life, the kind of partner you want or where you want to live or the way you want to see your life then all of a sudden it can happen and it just snowballs so fast and I think that's what to reference that you're saying. It's like we have this play with time, where it's wild how you can have all these parallel things happening and you know that time is working for you instead of against you. And I think that's what's so interesting when we talk about harmonious balance of our lives is you can be in one hand, you can feel like, oh my gosh, I'm so busy, there's so much going on. As you hold that space for the dreaming and hold the space for kind of making sure you focus in on what it is you want and desire and what you need, you can move just as fast on those things when you feel like over here, there's no time.

Speaker 2:

That's so good and exactly what I've been feeling lately, because in my role outside of home, there are, you know, some things that continue. We're building this empire per se here, right, and so there's these moments where it's like gosh, there's so many things that we're working towards and it can feel I don't even like to use the word busy anymore, because that just feels like a condition or construct that I'm just not attached to. But there's a lot, right, that we're doing during the day to make all of those things, um, you know to, to make those next right steps. That's really what it is that we're doing. It's just that next right step. And so I think that sometimes I do have to say like, oh, let me make sure I'm not getting a hustle, and then I check in with that. I'm like, actually it's not hustling, it truly is, because I'm still having these rituals where I'm tapping in with me on a consistent basis.

Speaker 2:

I'm still taking those pause moments when things happen. You know, is this something that needs my attention right now or does it not? I'm making a choice to allow it if it does need my attention, you know, and so like we just had our boundaries episode drop out today, and that's what I was thinking was like oh yeah, there's some things that might look like am I allowing this to invade a boundary? But then it's like no, because I'm actually pausing and thinking about it first and then choosing, versus feeling like I have to impulsively jump in on it, you know. And so, yeah, it's just, it's just allowing us the things we talk about here, just allowing us to be more conscious observers of our life, versus going through the motions and trying to, like, make it all happen.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So let's keep it bite-sized, right? Yes, so this seems like a good place for us to wrap. We're going to keep these styles going. I'm obsessed with them, but, as always, we are so grateful you chose to hang out with us today.

Speaker 1:

Listeners, we'd love to hear your own personal journeys with releasing the hows and allowing yourself to dream up your desires without needing to know how you'll make it happen. So do you find that easy? We hope so. Or what makes this feel bumpy? Journal it out, remember. This is a great way to get clarity on something on your heart and your mind. So, sis, we leave you with this encouragement today Surrender the need for control and trust that your dreams are seeds of your potential. If you find yourself tangled in worries and doubt, vow to get out of your own way. Trust that the how of any dream you have isn't really any of your business. It's your job to keep a pulse on your energy. Hold the vibration of your desires. Then let your inspired action be a magnet for alignment and opportunities, moving you closer and closer to your desires you get to.

Speaker 2:

We want to welcome you, to tune in, stay close and grow with us. Come feel empowered, inspired and connected.

Speaker 1:

Check the show notes to follow us. And, of course, we'd love for you to tag us on social media when you share wetlands for you.

Speaker 2:

Until next time, breathe on purpose, stay curious and trust your intuition.
